Fraemohs Homes was founded in 1968 by Monni Fraemohs, who brought with him from Denmark a passion for solid timber home construction. Since then, we’ve built thousands of houses all across New Zealand and the world in the distinctive Fraemohs log home style.
When you think of Fraemohs you probably think of timber homes. What you may not know is that Fraemohs build two distinct types of homes, along with kitsets shipped around NZ and overseas.
Solid Timber Homes
Solid timber construction. The solid timber system uses interlocking timber boards that stack on top of one another to form the walls of your home. There is no separate framing, cladding, or lining in these homes. The walls are solid timber, and provide insulation and protection from the elements, as well as forming the exterior finish and the internal finish – all with a single material.
Timbermode
If you are looking for a new home that looks and feels different but will still be welcome in any subdivision, Fraemohs Timbermode homes are a great choice. Timbermode is our take on a conventionally timber framed home (what you see in 95% of residential construction).
For clients in Canterbury we can offer a full architectural design and build service, while clients elsewhere in New Zealand can choose from our architecturally-designed Timbermode kitsets and modify them if required.
Kitset or Full Built
From our base just north of Christchurch, Fraemohs Homes manufactures and supplies kitset homes to customers around New Zealand and overseas. For our clients in Canterbury, we offer the option of a complete build service where Fraemohs manages the entire building process.
